Last updated: June 2025

Named Later Ltd ("Named Later", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we use it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Named Later Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under reference ZB915405.

Who we are

Named Later Ltd is a recruitment consultancy specialising in cloud, platform, and software engineering roles. We act as a data controller in respect of the personal data we process.

You can contact us at john@namedlater.io.

What data we collect

Depending on whether you are a candidate or a client, we may collect and process the following:

  • Name, contact details (email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile)
  • Employment history, skills, qualifications, and CV
  • Salary expectations and employment preferences
  • Notes from conversations and interviews
  • Feedback provided by or about you during a recruitment process
  • For clients: company name, job title, business contact details

We do not collect special category data (such as health information or ethnicity) unless you volunteer it and it is directly relevant to a role.

How we collect your data

We collect personal data in the following ways:

  • Directly from you — when you contact us, submit a CV, or engage with us about a role
  • From publicly available sources — such as LinkedIn, GitHub, or your employer's website
  • From third parties — such as referrals or job boards

Why we process your data and our lawful basis

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Providing recruitment services — matching candidates to relevant roles and managing hiring processes on behalf of clients. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (candidates) and performance of a contract (clients).
  • Maintaining our talent network — keeping your details on file so we can reach out about suitable opportunities in the future. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • Communicating with you — responding to enquiries, providing updates on active processes, and sending relevant market information. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • Complying with legal obligations — such as maintaining accurate business records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your rights and concluded that our processing is proportionate and does not unduly prejudice you. You can object to this processing at any time — see Your Rights below.

Who we share your data with

We will only share your personal data with a specific client company where you have been informed of the role and have consented to your details being presented. We will never share your CV or contact details speculatively or without your knowledge.

We may also share data with:

  • Technology providers who support our operations (such as our CRM or email platform), acting as data processors under appropriate agreements
  • Professional advisers (such as our accountant) where legally required
  • Regulatory or law enforcement bodies where we are legally obliged to do so

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

How long we keep your data

We retain candidate data for up to two years from the date of last contact. After this period, we will delete or anonymise your data unless you have asked us to keep it, or unless we have an ongoing legitimate reason to do so.

Client contact data is retained for the duration of our business relationship and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and administrative purposes.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see Your Rights below.

International transfers

We primarily process data within the UK and European Economic Area. Where any data is transferred outside these areas (for example, via a cloud-based tool with servers abroad), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in respect of your personal data:

  • Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure — to ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction — to ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at john@namedlater.io. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
